Tuna Carbonara and Garlic Toast

I've been busy since Christmas that I had no time to update my blog. We spent Noche Buena in our teeny tiny apartment because we need to sleep early to attend the 6am service the following day. We didn't even waited for the clock to strike 12, instead we had dinner at around 9pm.

I decided to cook few simple meals and that includes Fried Chicken, Christmas Ham and the Tuna Carbonara and Garlic Toast that I will share the recipe with you. Brought some at home for my family to taste and they say it's good!

 Tuna Carbonara

450g fettuccine pasta
100g butter
2 cloves garlic
1 can mushroom (284g)
1 can century tuna flakes in water
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup cream of mushroom
1 cup full cream milk (I used a small can of Alpine)
parmesan cheese
dried basil

Boil pasta. Set Aside. In a pan, saute garlic in butter then add tuna and mushroom. Stir until cooked. Add heavy cream, cream of mushroom and full cream milk. Gradually stir in low fire till it boils. Put pasta in a plate, add sauce and sprinkle with parmesan cheese and basil.

Garlic Toast

100g butter
4 tbsp of powder garlic (add more if you like)
6-8 pieces of sliced bread
parsley

Melt butter and add powder garlic. Brush the mixture on the bread and sprinkle parsley on top then toast for 5 mins or until bread turns brown.

Enjoy!

  1. Great idea to use tuna flakes. Something I will try next time when I make a white pasta sauce.
