DIY Friday

Ever since I discovered Pinterest, it's like I have a home in cyberworld and I'd like to thank the people behind the website for that. It's so so helpful in all aspects. Most of my free time are wasted in scrutinizing every single corner of the web (if there is such!). 

I have so many craft-finds that doesn't deserve to only be sitting on my pc's hard drive for they are worthily sharing. This post will be on a regular basis but will only be published every Friday, the title tell it so. 10 DIY ideas per post, so as to not overfeed my readers or they'll get bored. I'm excited with this, it's giving my heart so much joy!

Soleil Wants To Be A Teacher

Every child will come to a period in their life when they want to be a teacher. I'm not sure if Soleil is in this phase right now or she's really serious that she'll choose teaching as her profession when she grows up. You see, she drools over books than toys, so maybe it's a sign? At first, she wants to be a dentist, then a baker, then a chef, but when she enters kindergarten, her teachers inspired her so much that she wanna be like them! I know it's too early for me to think about that and she still have 10 years to make up her mind but whatever it is that she'll choose is up to her, we're just here to support. We don't wanna be like other parents who decides for their child. It will be an easy breezy for us because we're not like them.

Last Sunday, we promised to give her a little gift for doing well in school and for giving us good grades. She asked for a blackboard, I guess she's serious about the teacher thing. Whatcha think?!

So yesterday I went to the bookstore to get one. I put it on the sofa so it will be the first thing she'll see when she opens the door.

Valentine's Day: Better Late Than Never

It was like an ordinary day for me. Another Tuesday where I need to wake up at 5:30 am, help Soleil prepare for school and cook breakfast for Jeff, he's on a morning shift this week so I need to cook breakfast, si Soleil kasi bread and milo lang ok na. His breakfast was all done when he woke up, he kissed and greeted me. It's not even 5 minutes after, nagkainisan na kami kaagad. What a way to start the day right? (I'll make another post about what happened).  I went back to sleep para mawala inis ko cos that's what I do when I'm mad, either go somewhere or sleep. He woke me up with kisses then apologize before he leaves.

I was talking to Jeff through IM and Soleil told me to tell his Daddy to come home early because she wants to eat at Chowking, gusto daw nya ng chicharap. Bored na bored na siguro ang anak ko dito sa bahay dahil buong araw tinatanong nya din ako kung hindi daw ba kami lalabas manlang. Anyways, Jeff said he can't leave the office early, so walang kainan na magaganap!

I was browsing Facebook and all I see are pictures of gifts my friends received from their loved ones. I started to think why Jeff didn't even bother to buy me one kahit na flat tops manlang. Nag emote ako sakanya. I only want to know kung ano sasabihin nya pero hindi naman talaga dahil gusto ko ng gift, Ok, part of me wants to receive something from him. Haha!

Me: Nakakainggit tumingin sa Facebook.
Jeff: Baket?
Me: Kasi lahat ng nasa feeds puro gifts na natanggap nila. Ikaw wala manlang binigay saken!
Jeff: Ganon? Haha. Sige ibibili kita.
Me: Sus! Wag na! Kung hindi ko pa sabihin!
Jeff: Baliw! Ibibili talaga kita mamaya bago ko umuwi, pinapangunahan mo kasi ako. Tae ka!

Ang sweet no? Tinawag na kong baliw may additional pa na tae. Hahaha! It's not Jeff without those words. Ganun sya maglambing, if lambing is the right term. Hahahah! -Napahiya ako sa sarili ko ng konti, pero konti lang.

When he arrived home, he handed me this.

He also bought dinner on his way home.

Ang sosyal diba? Pancit canton and balot/penoy.

Soleil's Realationship With Her Lamp

Soleil is not the type of 6 years old who loves to play toys. She always asks for books and other school stuff instead of toys. Ang dami na nyang naubos na crayons at pencils. Lahat na din yata ng activity at coloring books nabili na namin. It's so much favorable to us kasi she's so eager to learning and we also see results based on her school performance, so we don't mind na spending money to things that are also helping her to learn. Her teachers are even surprised na upon entering Preparatory, mabilis na sya mag basa.

Every time she arrives home from school, she will go directly to her study table which is located in one corner of her super tiny room or kukuha sya ng gamit nya at dadalin nya kung saang lugar man sa bahay. I noticed lang na everywhere she go, she brings her lamp with her. Her dad already scolded her kasi sya na din mag isa nagpplug nung lamp, Jeff's worried na baka makuryente sya. That lamp is a gift her Ninang Apple (Jeff's sister) gave her on her 4th birthday and ngayon nya lang binibigyan ng pansin.



I only get to take 2 pictures kasi nagagalit sya kaka picture ko. Pero swear kahit saan talaga dala nya yang lamp na yan, lahat din kasi ng sulok ng bahay namin may saksakan, kung pwede lang dalhin sa banyo yan baka dala nya din dun. Hahaha!

Elaine Is Sick

One of my best friends (Elaine) has dengue and was in the hospital since Friday but I only get to visit her today. I also asked Gladys and Rose to visit her para sabay na kaming 3. She's sharing a room with her cousin who also have dengue. Akala daw nya simpleng lagnat lang kasi hindi naman sya nanghihina or what, naisipan lang nya magpa blood test kasi may mga rashes na sya sa legs. And yun, hindi na nga normal yung platelet count nya, pababa na so nagpa confine na sya. Seriously, she don't look sick at all, I had dengue before and I don't have the energy she have, she's standing, walking, getting food, going to the comfort room all by herself! At ang lakas pa tumawa! Elaine is wearing a tank top dahil ayaw daw nya ng mukhang may sakit although may sakit nga sya talaga.

According to her recent tests pataas na daw yung platelet nya, intayin nalang maging normal then pwede na sya i-discharge. Thank God! I don't know, but whenever I hear someone have dengue, I worry. Some people are not taking it seriously but they really should. Hindi biro yung sakit na yun lalo na at madaming namamatay, mostly kids pa. I hope makahanap na sila ng gamot to treat dengue.



O diba? Parang wala lang? Hahahaha!

Corel Draw Saved Me

I wasn't able to check Soleil's school handbook last Friday to see their activities for the day and for any homeworks they might have. I know it's so silly of me to only check it today when we got home from doing our laundry at my parent's house. (I don't know kung ano nakain ni Jeff at tinulungan nya ko ngayon). Their math teacher asked them to bring clock with movable hands tomorrow, it's 7pm and raining, there is no way I can go to Pandayan which I'm also unsure if still open. What's more annoying is nagpunta pa kami ni Jeff dun nung hapon to buy the supplies I'll be using for her project in Sibika. Her class starts at 7am. I'm worried that she don't have any clock to bring and Jeff is already scolding me. Dagdag stress! Buti nalang umilaw yung creative light ko, I made a clock in Corel Draw, printed it at tapos ang problema ko! Haha! It's also a good thing na I have stocks of special paper and craft buttons at home. It really saved me!



Btw, I also got Soleil's report card for 3rd quarter today. I'm really so proud of her! She never fails to fill in a spot on her class' list of top5 students. She made it to top 3 this period, bumaba ng isa cos she's already top2 nung 2nd quarter, she admitted na nahirapan talaga sya nung periodical test lalo na sa Sibika but we told her na it's ok, we don't wanna pressure her with her studies, we just want her to enjoy school. Jusko naman!  6 years old palang anak ko baka tubuan na ng wrinkles. Haha! They are 24 in class, masama pa ba na pang 3 sya diba?! Jeff and I are so happy so we're giving her a little token next weekend.

Our House Is A Mess

I'm an OC when it comes to organizing stuff. I don't want a home full of furniture that eat spaces and you can't move freely, especially now that we are renting a small apartment which has an area of I think less than 60sq. meters. The only pro is, it's easier to clean. Before I dwindle in front of the computer, I make sure I finished all household chores in line for me because I'm not comfortable sitting in chaos.

I went back to sleep at 6:30am today and woke up little later than Jeff and Soleil. And what I see surprises me. Naloka talaga ko because the house was clean bago ko matulog. We don't have a maid to help me with the chores, it's always me who do everything, including laundry (na super hate kong gawin). My hands are not even as soft, it's a bit frustrating already but I don't complain because it's what wives and moms do but sometimes it makes me wanna cry. Really!

Soleil loves taking all her toys and things in the living area tapos  lilipat naman sya sa kwarto para dun magkalat. Si Jeff, isa pa din! He will arrive home at 4am, take his shoes off and leave it below the sofa with his socks then his office clothes on top of the sofa tapos yung backpack nya sa ibabaw ng dining table. It's always like that everyday, so same routine din ako sa paglilinis. Haaay! If only I can have a robot to help me clean all this mess!
